H.E. Mr. CHENG Jingye, Chinese Ambassador to Australia, paid a courtesy call to Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull on 22 August.
Prime Minister Turnbull said that Australia attached great importance to its relations with China and would like to work with China for constant progress in bilateral relations. He expressed his anticipation of attending the G20 Summit to be held in Hangzhou in early September and belief that the Summit will produce important outcomes.
Ambassador CHENG expressed China's welcome to Prime Minister Turnbull's attendance of the Summit and readiness to work with Australia and all other parties concerned to make the Summit a full success. He said China would like to work with Australia to build the comprehensive strategic partnership on the basis of mutual respect and mutual benefit.
